Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American actress and musician. She started by releasing hilarious, intelligently composed rap songs that addressed questions of racial identity and sexual orientation. Then she expanded her audience to Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Korean immigrants living who resided in Forest Hills Queens. Her first encounter with music was via the trumpet. Apart from classical music and jazz, she started studying hip-hop when she was in her teens. While in the school, she focused on women's studies and journalism. She also studied Mandarin for a while in Beijing. She turned her attention towards music after she completed her degree. In 2012, My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet hit and was included on her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also featured popular hits, including the body positive Queef and winking hometown tour NYC Bitche$1. The single that debuted was specifically linked to the album Awkwafinas NYC, her travel guide for 2015. Her resume included both author and musician. The singer was seeking to further her career in acting. Alongside early shows such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in movies such as Neighbors as well as Storks. In 2018, she landed a series of notable parts, including Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June she dropped her new EP "In Fina We Trust".
