Anamaria Marinca, born in Romania, is an actress. She made her screen debut with her role in the Channel 4 film Sex Traffic for which she won the British Academy Television Award for Best Actress. She is fluent in French, German English, as well as Romanian. Her father is a theater professor for one of Romania's finest drama schools. She was awarded the Best Female Actor Award for the Year in 2000 at the Gala for Young Actors in Mangalia. In 2008, she was recognized as a European Shooting Star' by the European Film Promotion Board. She was the lead in Cristian Mugiu's Romanian film "4 three weeks and 2 days" (4 3 Weeks, 4 Months And Two Days) which earned her the Palme d'Or award at Cannes Film Festival 2007. The film also won two awards in addition, it was awarded the Cinema Prize of French National Education System (FIPRESCI Prize) as well as the Cinema Prize. Youth Without Youth by Francis Ford Coppola was another film that she was in. In 2008, she played Yasim Anwar in BBC mini-series The Last Enemy. Marinca was also a part of Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven and the Romanian drama Boogie. Then, she played major roles in 2014's Fury in which she portrayed Irma the German aunt of Emma.
